The Cape Metropolitan Area possesses a radial road network centered around the inner city area that mainly consists of national and provincial arterial roads. The movement of cars along this network is characterized by a flow of traffic from the outlying suburban cities into the inner city area. Figure 2-8 indicates the pattern of car traffic movement during the morning rush.
